Apologies if this is the wrong sub. I tried r/rccars but that’s for a different class of remote controlled cars, so I’m at a loss.
Summary: I have two kids and decided to buy a remote controlled car for them for Christmas, as they had been looking forward to having one of those with a wide range of motion.
Alas, we opened it today but I cannot for the life of me to get the car to react to the controller. Both the car and remote have new batteries, they both turn their lights on. The car has lights on both sides – blue and red. The remote has a constantly blinking red light on the middle, which send to suggest to me that it’s trying to pair but can’t.
Any thoughts on what I could try? The car didn’t come with instructions and I bought it while traveling a while back, so I don’t have easy access to (nor do I remember the name of) the store.
I imagine this is something super standard, hence the question. I tried to take out batteries, waiting, and inserting them again. Tried turning them on at the same time. I opened both up but there’s nothing there to force a reset or pair, it seems.
I’ve attached a picture, but the car is pretty much like the ones here, though ours isn’t charged via USB.
